27 personal Shared Drives created on vervejapan.com — one per Coffee user. Each drive is named VCR-{coffee-username} and contains a full copy of that user's Coffee My Drive. Files are owned by the drive itself (not the Japan user), so they will survive Coffee account closure. Both the Coffee user (as fileOrganizer) and Japan user (as organizer) have access.
Ownership model: In a Shared Drive, files are owned by the drive entity — not any individual. Even after Coffee accounts are decommissioned, the Japan user retains full access as organizer. The Coffee user's fileOrganizer membership can be removed at any time after cutover.

Next step — cleanup: Once Ken and Mark confirm files are visible and correct in the Shared Drives, trash the old Japan My Drive copies (from the original migration). Those copies are now redundant. A 30-day trash window provides a recovery buffer before permanent deletion.

Google does not provide a supported migration path for Chat history. Google Workspace Migrate — Google's own domain migration tool — does not cover Google Chat. There is no official export API, no cross-domain import endpoint, and no Google-provided tooling to move message history between Workspace domains. Workarounds exist but require extensive custom development and are costly to implement. The standard approach is to create new spaces on the Japan domain and accept that historical threads remain on Coffee accounts while they are still active.

Additional Development Pricing request required for manual injection of history.
